Davos 2025:Navigating Uncertainty for Global Sourcing and Supply

World Economic Forum 2025: Global Leaders Converge in Davos

World Economic Forum annual meeting January 20-24th will see the annual meeting of over 2,500 delegates to the Swiss ski town of Davos. For those 5 days Davos will enjoy global focus as Governments, Non-Profits and Business connect and exchange ideas. Creating the opportunity to build connectivity and deepen relationships and share thinking and ideas.

For Global Sourcing companies facing the new paradigm of an approaching period of Protectionism, Tariffs and Geo-Political uncertainty, the opportunity for increased dialogue can only be positive. As relationships are forged to mitigate supply chain risk, build stronger relationships and contribute to reducing global trading turmoil.

The theme for Davos is “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age.” The program will be oriented around five interconnected priorities:

  • Reimagining growth. Given today’s geopolitical and economic realities, policy makers will need to look toward new sources of growth for the future.
  • Industries in the intelligent age. Technology is now the primary driver of change and disruption across business sectors.
  • Investing in people. Technological advancements have created the need to reskill and upskill people to meet the demands of tomorrow’s economy.
  • Safeguarding the planet. Partnerships and dialogues that enable investment and deployment of new climate technologies are critical to making progress on global climate and nature-related goals.
  • Rebuilding trust. As the pace of change accelerates, societal divides have deepened as people around the world seek to reaffirm their identities.

All eyes will be on Davos in January to read any positive signs that could lead to a reduction in uncertainly for business with extended supply chains.

Vietnam’s Competitive Edge in Global Supply Chain

Navigating Global Supply Chain: Vietnam’s Competitive Edge

Vietnam’s Competitive Edge in Global Supply Chain

In today’s competitive landscape, global sourcing strategies can offer companies huge benefits. Defending or driving margin up and creating competitive advantage v your competitive set. The global trade landscape is looking more challenging to navigate in the approaching years. As Protectionism, Tariffs and Geo-politics loom large over the previously smooth waters of Global Trading.

Sourcing and Procurement teams will be actively scenario planning to build a Sourcing Strategy for the future either to begin Global Sourcing to boost competitiveness or to mitigate potential cost impacts into their existing supply chain.

Vietnam Economic Growth

Vietnam’s economy is projected to grow at a robust pace in 2024. The World Bank forecasts a growth rate of 6.1% for the year, driven by a rebound in manufacturing exports, tourism, and domestic consumption.

The strong economic performance combined with a growing and skilful labour market and strategic location make Vietnam a Sourcing destination that should be explored by every Sourcing and Procurement team.
