Job Overview – Country Manager (Izmir, Turkey)
ET2C International is hiring a dynamic and entrepreneurial Country Manager to lead our Izmir office. This senior-level role combines sales leadership, P&L ownership, operations, and team management, with a unique focus on dual business streams: Export Model: Selling Turkish-manufactured products (e.g., textiles, furniture, components) to EU/global clients. Import Model: Selling Asian-sourced products (from China, Vietnam, India) to Turkish businesses and buyers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development Turkish Products for EU/Global Markets
- Identify and onboard Turkish manufacturers in textiles, furniture, and industrial components to cater to EU, US, and global buyers.
- Attend trade shows, such as Heimtextil and Hannover Messe, to promote Turkish sourcing opportunities and enhance visibility.
- Negotiate contracts with Turkish suppliers to establish export-focused partnerships that drive mutual growth and success.
2. Asian Products for Turkish Clients
- Prospect and close deals with Turkish retailers, wholesalers, and industrial buyers seeking cost-effective Asian imports.
- Market ET2C’s supplier network from China, Vietnam, and India to local clients, highlighting competitive advantages.
- Manage pricing strategies to effectively compete with local importers and maximize market share.
3. Lead Generation & Client Acquisition
- Develop new sales channels, including distributors, agents, and direct buyers, to expand market reach.
- Implement digital and offline lead generation campaigns through platforms like LinkedIn, trade fairs, and cold outreach to attract potential clients.
- Achieve a minimum conversion rate of 75% on qualified inquiries to ensure effective sales performance and growth.
4. Office & Operations Management Procurement & Sourcing Oversight
- Direct supplier validation through audits and compliance checks for Turkish suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
- Negotiate costs, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and payment terms to protect profit margins and enhance financial performance.
- Coordinate with ET2C’s Asian offices to ensure smooth procurement processes and efficient supply chain management.
5. P&L & Team Leadership
- Full accountability for the profitability of the Izmir office, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
- Control costs related to office operations, payroll, and sourcing while scaling revenue to drive growth.
- Lead by example through hands-on sales efforts, client visits, and supplier negotiations to foster a proactive business environment.
- Report directly to the CEO and COO with monthly performance updates to provide insights and drive strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Dynamic and aggressive in driving growth initiatives to achieve business objectives.
- Over 10 years of experience in international trade/sourcing, with more than 5 years in sales and team leadership roles.
- Strong network within the Turkish manufacturing and retail sectors, facilitating dual-model execution.
- Expertise in procurement, supplier management, and B2B deal-closing to enhance operational efficiency.
- Fluent in English and Turkish (mandatory); proficiency in German or Arabic is a plus.
- Office management experience encompassing HR, finance, and compliance functions.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support business operations and client engagement.
